Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This page explains, in plain English, what Reddle keeps about you, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and a password. Passwords are scrambled (hashed) by our login provider, so nobody at Reddle can read them.
- Your profile: your username, bio and profile picture, if you add them.
- What you do on Reddle: the books you log, your ratings, reviews (and whether they contain spoilers), dates read and rereads, the page you're on in books you're reading, your yearly reading goal, your Want to read and Currently reading shelves, the reviews you like, and who you follow.
- Your reading taste: the genres you pick in the taste questionnaire, which we use to suggest books.
- Reports: if you report a review or profile, we keep the report and who sent it, so we can look into it.
- Feedback: if you send feedback, we keep your message, who sent it and which page you sent it from. Only the site owner can read it.
- Google sign in: if you use it, Google tells us your email address and name.
What's public
Reddle is a social site, so your profile is public: your username, bio, picture, logs, ratings, reviews, rereads, reading progress, reading goal, diary and year in review, shelves, likes, and who you follow and who follows you. Anyone can see these, even without an account.
Your email address is never shown to other people.
Where it's stored
- Your account, profile, picture and activity are stored with Supabase, the service that runs our database and logins.
- The website itself is hosted on GitHub Pages.
- Book details and covers are loaded from Open Library and sometimes Google Books. Your browser contacts them directly when it shows a book, so they can see your IP address, like any website you visit.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser stores a few small things on your device: a login token so you stay logged in, your day or night mode choice, the page to return to after logging in, and saved copies of Reddle's own pages so the app works offline. None of it is sent to anyone else.
Your choices
- You can change your username, email and password, edit your bio and picture, and edit or delete any log, at any time.
- You can delete your account in Settings. This deletes your profile, picture, logs, reviews, shelves and follows straight away. Books stay on Reddle because they're shared, but nothing on them is linked to you any more.
Children
Reddle is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 13, please don't sign up.
